eBay Selling Tools For Beginners and Advanced Sellers

Selling on eBay is not difficult, but there are eBay selling tools that make life easier and that will improve your eBay business. I have been selling on eBay for over 10 years and have used these tools to improve my business. If you are just starting out, I highly recommend using these tools.

Tool 1 - In order to have a great eBay business, you need to sell items that are in high demand. There are many tools that will help you with finding which items on eBay are hot. One free tool offered by eBay is eBay Pulse. This tool will show you the top ten searches within a given category. Another tool that I use is the advanced search on eBay. This tool is free as well. You can search for items that have actually sold and find out at what price the items have sold. So once you have an item that is in high demand, check to see how much that item is actually selling for, and how many listings end up as a sold item.

Tool 2 - I highly recommend that beginners use drop shippers. A dropshipper has many advantages over using a wholesale source of goods. One big advantage is that you don't have to buy the items first. With a dropshipper, you list one of their items for sale. If it sells, then you purchase the item from the dropshipper and have them ship the item to your customer. If you buy wholesale then you have to buy the product first and then hope that you sell it. If you do sell it then you have to ship the item. This is very time consuming. Another advantage of using dropshippers is that you can test which items will sell and which don't sell very well. The only cost in this experiment is the eBay listing fee. My dropshipping company has hundreds of items to sell. This allows me to test many items to see if there is any demand for the product. We the automated listing tools that my dropshipper has, I can list many items quickly on eBay with just a click of the button. If I find a winning item, I then start creating more listings for that item.

There are many tools I use that make my eBay business successful. The two most important tools help me find the hot selling items and a dropshipping company that offers many items for sale.

What You Can Sell on eBay

You can practically sell almost anything on eBay.

Have you heard of someone selling a toasted piece of bread that have an image of some religious face or celebrity?

Or even some French fries that was eaten or dropped by a celebrity?

Well, there are all kinds of Buyers out there.

Similarly, we also have all sorts of Sellers!

For a start, I would suggest that you just look around your home and see if you have anything that you are no longer using and they are just lying around. It would be better for you to sell these items and get some money back than having to throw them into the dustbin or thrash them eventually. Do not be surprised that your item may not even be wanted by anyone as it could be outdated or no longer usable by then.

So why not sell them in eBay or equivalent auctions and get back some money?

Gather at least 5 of such items and then clean them up a bit, if necessary. Check that they are still working or usable unless it is something of an antique value.

Get a digital camera and take some photos of them from different angles and select the best images to promote the sale f these items. If you do not have a digital camera, either borrow one or buy an entry-level digital camera as it is an important tool for all your future sales too. A photo or digital image paints a thousand words!

Next, craft out the description of the item and be as specific as possible. Give the dimensions, if applicable. Try to make it attractive and make it of value to the potential Buyer.

I have sold many items from my home from a Personal Diary Assistant (PDA) to my son soccer boots. If you have children, they will outgrow their clothes and shoes faster than you can imagine. Fro example, my son plays for the school soccer team and as his feet were still growing, he changes his soccer boots every 6 months. I sold all his soccer boots to many happy children and they were so happy that they were still in good shape especially his street soccer boots.

We may think that some of the items may be worthless but they may actually be worth quite a bit for some collectors of such items. For example, airline playing cards to some toys that your children may no longer play with.

I strongly suggest that you used these items and try to sell them on eBay. If you are not able to get a good price or even sell them, do not despair. The whole process should give you a good learning opportunity on how to post your item for sale.

Once you got the hang of it and decided to go further into having a serious business selling items on eBay, you can also proceed to look into becoming an eBay Power Seller, eBay stores, finding wholesalers for niche items and drop shipping too.

One last tip for you - do a search on the item you intend to sell and see who your competition is and also learn from them how they are posting their items. You may even want to price your item a bit lower or indicate why your item deserves the price you are asking for (eg. your item is almost brand new and in tip top condition with no scratches).

Some Tips on How to Sell on eBay With Dropshippers

Selling on eBay is fun and rewarding if done right. I have learned several important lessons in the past 3 years. This article will explain how to sell on ebay and what you must do and not do when using dropshippers.

I started selling sports merchandise and memorabilia and continue to do so today and I do very well. The problem i was having with dropshippers is that every so often when I sold something my dropshipper would either be out of stock or didn't carry a certain item anymore.

I was lucky that most of my customers understood and didn't leave me negative feedback. If your going to be selling on ebay using dropshippers ask them some questions like do they have a site where you can check their inventory, will they notify you of items that are out of stock or that won't be carried any longer.

I would say that 90% of dropshippers aren't reliable on keeping a good amount of stock. And that is way too high of a percentage to take a chance with. Before selling on eBay make sure you find a reliable dropshipping company. It will make your life so much easier. Sure we like the fact that dropshippers will ship the product out for us which is very convenient but it still isn't worth the aggravation.

I would recommend that if you can afford it, to buy the products at wholesale which will benefit you in 3 ways.

1. You don't have to worry about the product being out of stock.

2. You won't have to pay dropshipping fees that are usually anywhere from 3 to 6 dollars.

3. You will have a better chance of keeping a good ebay feedback score.

The one thing I learned about ebay buyers is that when they buy something from you and you don't have the item in stock and have to explain that to them, they really don't understand how you can list something and not have it in stock.

I try to explain to them that their are a lot of sellers that use dropshippers on eBay, but to them they don't understand and don't care. They bought something and they want it.
